in Animal House Facility.

applicable for recording Feed and Water intake of animals
in Animal House Facility.

PROCEDURE
5.1
Feed
intake
5.1.1
A specified
amount of feed is weighed on a weighing balance and placed in a feeding trough of
the cage lid of the animal cage (Initial Feed).
5.1.2
Amount of feed
remaining in the trough is measured after 24 hrs (Remaining Feed) or as per the study
plan by taking it out from the trough and placing it on the weighing balance pan.
5.1.3
Amount of Feed
intake is calculated by formula as mentioned below:

Water
Intake
5.2.1
A specified
amount of water is measured in a measuring cylinder and poured into water bottle
(Initial Water).
5.2.2
Amount of
water remaining in the water bottles is measured after 24 hrs or as per study plan
using measuring cylinder (Remaining Water).

Amount water
intake is calculated by formula as mentioned below:
