STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING, OPERATION & CALIBRATION OF BULK DENSITY APPARATUS

OBJECTIVE
To lay down the procedure for operation of Bulk Density
apparatus
2.0
SCOPE
This SOP shall be applicable to the Bulk Density apparatus
used in QC Dept.
3.0
RESPONSIBILITY
3.1
Chemist QC and above
shall be responsible for the preparation and execution of this SOP
3.2
Sr. Chemist QC & above
and QA Head shall be responsible for the checking and approval of this
SOP.

5.0
PROCEDURE
5.1
Cleaning
5.1.1
Ensure that power supply to the Bulk Density apparatus is switched ‘OFF’ before
cleaning and plug shall be removed from the socket.
5.1.2
Bulk Density apparatus shall be kept on a clean table/platform.
5.1.3
The platform of Bulk Density apparatus shall be wiped with a dry lint the free cloth on a daily basis so that there will be no dust particles on the Bulk
Density apparatus
5.2
Operation
5.2.1
Ensure that the power supply switch is “ON” of the Bulk Density apparatus.
5.2.2
Ensure that 10gm. the powder shall be taken in a measuring
cylinder.
5.2.3
Ensure that stock.
shall be set for powder at 50 stock and for Kwath at 100 stock.
5.2.4
Reading shall be a note after stocking (in ml or cc).
5.2.5
Calculation shall be done in Weight/Volume (gm. / cc)
5.2.6
Calibration Procedure
Calibration of Bulk Density apparatus shall be done by external
party on an annual frequency.
