SOP FOR DRY & WET GLASS THERMOMETER | STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING, OPERATION & CALIBRATION OF DRY & WET GLASS THERMOMETER

1.0              OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedure for operation of Dry & Wet Thermometer.

2.0              SCOPE

This SOP shall be applicable to Dry & Wet Thermometer used in QC Dept.

3.0              RESPONSIBILITY

3.1              Chemist QC and above shall be responsible for the preparation and execution of this SOP

3.2              Sr. Chemist QC & above and QA Head shall be responsible for the checking and approval of this SOP.

5.0              PROCEDURE

5.1              Cleaning

5.1.1        Dry & Wet glass Thermometer apparatus shall be clean with dry cloth/cotton.

5.2             Operation

5.2.1        Ensure that the instrument shall be in the central place of laboratory where maximum fluctuation is observed.

5.2.2        Ensure that the container shall be filled with distilled water and wick shall be wet.

5.2.3        Readings of both thermometers shall be noted down.

5.2.4        Ensure that relative humidity of the laboratory shall be calculate from the standard table of temperature & humidity.

5.2.5         Calibration Procedure

Calibration of Dry & Wet Thermometer shall be done by the external party on an annual frequency.
