SOP FOR SYRINGE NEEDLE DESTROYER | STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR SYRINGE NEEDLE DESTROYER

 1.0                            OBJECTIVE

1.1                            To lay down a standard procedure to be followed for the operation of Syringe Needle Destroyer.

2.0                            SCOPE

2.1                            This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) shall be applicable for operating of Syringe                              Needle Destroyer in Animal House Facility.

3.0                            RESPONSIBILITY

3.1                            All Personnel operating Syringe Needle Destroyer in Animal House Facility

4.0                            DEFINITIONS

4.1                            Nil

5.0                            PROCEDURE

5.1                            Operating Procedure

5.1.1                    Install the machine at a dry place away from direct sunlight moisture and condensing humidity.

5.1.2                       Plugging the machine, start power switch on, red light will glow.

5.1.3                    After using the syringe and needle carefully insert needle vertically in the center of the machine hole marked insert needle here.

5.1.4                       Do not remove the needle from the syringe.

5.1.5                       Gently press the needle and slowly rotate the needle in the hole.

5.1.6                       When the needle destroy, the syringe body touch the top of the hole then cut the syringe hub, with a finger gently pull the handle of the cutter from right to left.

5.1.7                       The destroyed syringe needle will be collected in the discharge tray.

5.1.8                       Collect and dispose of the needle and syringe as per the method prescribed for collection and disposal of Biomedical Waste in SOP………...
