1.1 The purpose of this SOP is to define the procedure for Operation and Cleaning of Milli-Q Direct water purification system.
2.0 SCOPE
This standard operating procedure provides the procedure for Operation and Cleaning of Milli-Q Direct water purification system in quality control department.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1 Quality Control Person shall be responsible for:
3.1.1 To initiate and preparation of standard operating procedure.
3.1.2 Training and Monitoring of standard operating procedure.
3.2 Final report preparation of Milli-Q Direct water purification system
3.3 Head of Quality Control Department shall be responsible for:
3.3.1 To confirm the content, correctness and detailing of standard operating procedure.
3.3.2 To ensure the training of this standard operating procedure to all concerned department persons.
3.3.3 To ensure the implementation of the standard operating procedure after training.
3.4 It is final responsibility of Head of Quality Control to maintain the Milli-Q Direct water purification system
3.5 Quality Assurance Person shall be responsible for :
3.5.1 To check the standard operating procedure.
3.6 QA Head shall be responsible for:
3.6.1 To approve new or revised standard operating procedure.

6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Operation:
6.1.1 This operation is applicable for the instrument mention below:
6.1.2 Name of Instrument- Milli-Q Direct water purification system

6.1.7 Connect the instrument with the power cables.
6.1.7 Once the connection established, the system changed from standby to Ready mode.
6.1.8 Getting ready mode system shows Menu, Stand By and Volume icons.
6.1.9 The water supply must be continuous.
6.1.10 The instrument has three main parts Millipore Elix, Millipore Reservoir and Millipore
Milli- Q.
6.1.11. Operating procedure for Elix.
6.1.11.1 Put on the main switch, of the Elix.
6.1.11.2 The green indicator light indicates that the power supply is ON.
6.1.11.3 The system displays STAND BY.
6.1.11.4 After the completion of the flush cycle the system produces purified water and it is stored in
the reservoir.
6.1.11.5 Once the tank is full the system displays TANK FULL and Elix system stops.
6.1.11.6 If the water level is decreases in the reservoir, Elix will operate to transfer water to reservoir.
6.1.12 Operating Procedure for Milli-Q:
6.1.12.1 Put on the main switch, which is located at the front of Milli-Q.
6.1.12.2 Green light indicator glows, indicates that the power supply is ON.
6.1.12.3 The system will display STANDBY.
6.1.12.4 To change STANDBY mode, either press continuously STANDBY button, which is located
on the front side of the panel or system shows ready automatically.
6.1.12.5 Make sure that the instrument is in ready mode.
6.1.12.6 To collect the water press the trigger on the dispenser towards the downward direction.
6.1.12.7 After collecting water from the system, release the trigger back to upward direction to stop the Water.
6.2 Cleaning procedure of Reservoir:
6.2.1 Drain the water present in the reservoir tank by opening the tap provided to the reservoir.
6.2.2 Opening the knob of reservoir situated at the bottom, which is blue in colour shall drain off
the remaining water.
6.2.3 Completely drain the water and wash through distilled water and clean the surface through
soft cotton cloth.
6.3 Precaution (DO’S AND DON’TS).
6.3.1 Read operating instruction manual before use.
6.3.2 Supervise Milli-Q at all times during operation.
6.3.3 Do not block the air/water passage area with system.
6.3.4 Do not place anything on the top of Equipment or do not stand on the top of the equipment.
