2.1 It covers the entire procedure for monitoring of personal hygiene for all employees of all manufacturing units.

3.1 HR Officer and above shall be responsible for preparation & execution of this SOP.
3.2 HR and QA shall be responsible for the review of this SOP.
3.3 HR Head and QA Head shall be responsible to ensure the compliance of the procedure and implementation of this SOP respectively.

5.0 DEFINITIONS
5.1 Definitions
5.1.1 Personal hygiene is a concept that is commonly used in medical and public health practices. It involves maintaining the cleanliness of our body and clothes, promoting sanitary practices to the self. Generally, the practice of personal hygiene is employed to prevent or minimize the incidence and spread of communicable diseases and maintain clean surrounding..
5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Ensure that all person engaged in manufacturing units are free from infectious and contagious (communicable) diseases. In order to confirm to the above requirements, take following precautions:
5.1.1 Train all personnel, engaged in manufacturing units to practice good Sanitation and health habits.
5.1.2 Instruct all personnel to report if they are suffering from any infectious or contagious diseases or having open lesions. Do not place such workmen in manufacturing areas where they come directly in contact with the product.
5.1.3 For any employee resuming duty after an illness involving contagious diseases ask for medical fitness certificate specifying his/her ability to be fit to resume work.
5.1.4 Carry out medical checkup of all employees working in plant.
5.1.5 Supervisors are always required to keep vigil for any signs of disease or weakness in workers.
5.1.6 At work place use clean uniform comprising of boiler suit/factory uniform and cap. While working in production area where persons are directly exposed to the product, insist that they must wear hand gloves, nose mask, shoes cover & cap.
5.1.7 Use clean footwear to go in production area.
5.1.8 Use separate change rooms for male and female workmen.
5.1.9 Wash your hands with soap solution and disinfectant solution before entering the manufacturing areas and after using toilet.
5.1.10 Ensure that hair is clean and kept under headgear.
5.1.11 Trim nails regularly.
5.1.12 Maintain a record of Nail & Hair checking as per formats as provided by the QA.
5.1.13 Food, drinks, sweets etc. are not allowed. The chewing of pan, nuts and tobacco etc., not allowed in company premises
5.1.14 Spitting in any area of the factory is strictly prohibited.
5.1.15 Smoking is prohibited in the entire premises of the plant.
5.1.16 No personal medicines/cosmetics to be carried within the production/ Quality area.
