SOP ON FIRST AID FOR THE PRODUCTION UNIT

1.0 PURPOSE

1.1 To lay down the procedure for First Aid in the Production Unit.

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This process shall be applicable for First Aid at the Production Unit.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 HR Officer and above shall be responsible for the preparation & execution of this SOP.

3.2 HR and QA shall be responsible for the review of this SOP.

3.3 HR Head and QA Head shall be responsible to ensure the compliance of the procedure and implementation of this SOP respectively.

5.1.1 Emergency care or treatment is given to an ill or injured person before regular medical aid.

7.0 PROCEDURE

7.1 The production unit shall have a team of certified and trained First Aiders.

7.2 Name of the First Aider shall be displayed in the different sections of the production unit.

7.3 Members shall wear the green color jacket on top of the uniform for easy identification.

7.4 Only trained employees shall be eligible for providing the First Aid for the casualty.

7.5 The production unit shall have a dispensary with the required infrastructure and medicines.

7.6 The production unit shall have a First Aid box and shall be stored in different locations.

7.7 Medicine shall be dispensed after consultation of the Doctor who sits on the production unit premises.

7.8 Time to time expiry of medicines shall be checked.

7.9 A report of accident and incident shall be prepared by Safety Officer.

7.10 After providing the First-Aid to the victim, he/she shall be referred to the hospital for further treatment in case of serious casualty.
