SOP FOR CLEANING, OPERATION & CALIBRATION OF B.O.D INCUBATOR
1.0 OBJECTIVE
To lay
down the procedure for cleaning, operation &
calibration of B.O.D incubator.
2.0
SCOPE
This
SOP shall be applicable for cleaning, operation &
calibration of B.O.D incubator in Microbiology Laboratory.
3.0
RESPONSIBILITY
3.1
Microbiologist and above shall be responsible for
the preparation and execution of this SOP
3.2
QC & QA Head shall be responsible for the checking and approval of this
SOP.

5.0
PROCEDURE
5.1
Cleaning:
5.1.1 Ensure that the power supply to the incubator is switched OFF.
5.1.2 Incubator shall be dedust daily externally with a clean dry
cloth.
5.1.3 Once in a
week remove adhered dust by wet mopping using soap solution. Afterward wipe
the surface with a clean dry cloth to remove the moisture.
5.1.4 The interior surfaces shall be mop with a clean dry cloth, daily.
5.2
Operation
5.2.1
Ensure that the incubator is properly connected to the
power supply.
5.2.2
Switch 'ON' the main switch and then the cabinet switch.
5.2.3
Required temperature shall be set to 22.0 °C by pressing the 'set knob and soft keys.
5.2.4
Ensure the temperature shown on the digital display.
The temperature shall not differ by + 2.5°C.
5.2.5 In case of any problem with the working of the BOD incubator,
take the help of the maintenance department.
5.3
Calibration
of the Instrument:
Calibration of BOD incubator shall be done by external
party on an annual frequency.
