PROCEDURE
5.1 Ensure that the instrument
and surrounding area shall be clean with a dry cotton cloth before use.
5.2
Ensure that the speed control KNOB is at 'O' Position.
5.3
Ensure that” the power supply switch is “ON” of the magnetic stirrer.
5.4 Beaker or any vessel
containing the media to be stirred shall
be placed on the platform of the stirrer instrument.
5.5
The Teflon capsule (stirrer)
shall be put in the vessel or beaker/flask.
5.6 The speed control knob
shall be rotated slowly till the
Telefon stirrer in the vessel
starts rotating.
5.7
The Teflon stirrer shall
be allowed to pick up the rotation.
5.8 Ensure that the speed
control knob shall be adjusted to get a smooth,
uninterrupted rotation of the Teflon
stirrer inside the vessels
5.9 Stirring shall be
continue till the required time.
5.10
After the completion of
stirring, the speed control knob shall
be turned slowly 'O' position
5.11 Ensure for the stirring is complete, a vessel shall be removed from
the platform of the stirrer instrument and switch off the weighing balance
5.12
The Teflon stirrer shall
be taken out from the media.
5.13 The Teflon stirrer shall
be clean using 0.1% teepol solution or
70% I.P.A, after that, shall be washed under running tap water and finally rinse with distilled water.
5.14
The magnetic stirrer
shall be wiped with a clean dry cloth.
5.15 Cleaned and dried Teflon
stirrer shall be kept at a specified place in a closed container near the magnetic stirrer.
5.16
After that surrounding area shall be clean.
5.17
Calibration of the Instrument:
External calibration shall
be done for Instrument once in 12 months.
