STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR OPERATION OF THERMOMIXER-C


1.0 PURPOSE

To design the standard operating procedure for operation of Thermomixer-c.

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This SOP shall be applicable for the operation of Thermomixer-c.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 All the users including Scientist(s) and Research associate(s) of in-vitro department are responsible for implementation of this SOP and maintaining the Thermomixer-c.

4.0 DISTRIBUTION




4.1 The Quality Assurance department responsible to keep SOP ‘Master Copy’ approved through Quality Manager.

4.2 The copy of ‘Control Copy’ of this SOP is being distributed in invitro department and placed near related Equipment/ Instrument as ‘Display Copy’.

5.0 DEFINITIONS

5.1 Definitions

5.1.1 A centrifuge is a device for separating particles from a solution according to their size, shape, density, viscosity of the medium and rotor speed.

6.0 PROCEDURE

6.1 Turn on the power switch on the back of the device.

6.2 Use the time, temperature and speed arrow keys to select the desired function.

6.3 In order to start the mixing process, press the start/stop key. The mixing frequency can be selected between 300 rpm and 3000 rpm.

6.4 The mixing process can be interrupted if reagents have to be added while mixing, by pressing the start/stop key for 2 seconds. The display shows Pause. Press the start/stop key again to resume the mixing process.

6.5 Switch off the instrument after use.

7.0 PRECAUTIONS

7.1 Switch off the device & disconnect the mains/power plug before starting cleaning or disinfection work.

7.2 Use closed tubes & closed plates.

7.3 Allow the thermoblock and heating/cooling plate to cool down completely before removing the thermoblock.

7.4 Never use tubes made of glass or other fragile material.

7.5 Only heat polypropylene microplates up to 70°C as they melt at temperatures above 70°C.
