Quality System Procedure: (PTL/QSP/15) Procedure for Estimation of Uncertainty of Measurement in Testing Laboratories

 1. Purpose: To define a procedure in the organization to determine measurement uncertainty in testing.

2. Scope: This procedure is applicable to all tests conducted in Pesticide Testing Laboratory.

3. Responsibility: Technical Manager is responsible to implement this procedure.

4. Procedure:

4.1 First of all it is ensured that all equipment used in testing is calibrated and has the value of measurement uncertainty.

4.2 It is also ensured that the person conducting the test is competent and authorized.

4.3 Proper environmental conditions (Rh, Temp. etc.) are being maintained in the laboratory as per the standard.

4.4 Uncertainty in measurement is due to variations in Standard, Workpiece, Instrument, Person, and Environmental factors.
